Storyboard Text

  • Exposition
  • This is                   Eugene.
  • Rising Action
  • Hi, my name is Eugene Lazowski. I would really like to help the Jewish as part of the Polish Red Cross.
  • We are afraid that you cannot help the Jews but, you can still treat other patients. Sorry.
  • Climax
  • Let's work together on helping the Jewish. We just have to keep quiet so that we don't get caught.
  • In the exposition, Death introduces himself and his hate for humans. He also explains how he uses distraction to keep him going. Then he brings up one of the humans that interested him, Eugene Lazowski.  According to Death, Eugene saved almost 8,000 Jews by creating a fake Typhus epidemic.
  • Falling Action
  • Hey Eugene, I think that if we inject a person with this vaccine then they will test positive for Typhus.
  • During the rising action, Eugene wants to get a job at the Polish Red Cross. The issue is that he really wants to help out the Jewish but the Nazis who are working there won't let him. They still allow him to get the job there. The Nazis apologize to Eugene but their sorries are not sincere.
  • Resolution
  • In the climax, we see that his rejection does not stop him from helping the Jews. Eugene and his friend, Staisek Matulewicz decide that they will work together to help out those who are Jewish. They need to keep this secret though because if they tell anyone, then they could get killed. They even need to keep this secret from their family and close friends.
  • Theme
  • During the falling action, Staisek and Eugene are experimenting with dead bacteria cells in a vaccination. In the end, they find out that is you vaccinate a person with this vaccine then they will test positive for Typhus. Meanwhile, they will not have the symptoms. This gave them the goal to spread the "Typhus epidemic".
  • On top of that, the person will not have the symptoms of Typhus.
  • In the end, Eugene starts to put to action his goal of spreading the vaccine. Apparently, the Germans are germaphobic and highly afraid of Typhus. Therefore, they will quarantine an area that has been infected. Though if a Jew has Typhus then they will kill them off.
  • The theme is using your intellectual power and sticking to your beliefs can help you overcome your greatest enemy. This is because Eugene used his brain to save 8,000 Jews. He also stuck to his gut and goal of helping Jews. He could have just joined Hitler and followed what the Nazis told him to do. Instead, he risked his life.
