"I'm leaving now Lucas!", his mom said. "okay bye", he answered. The door shut behind her as she marched out of the house. "I'm bored", whined Lindsey as she put her feet up on the couch and stared at Lucas innocently. "well go find something to do", Lucas replied.
"Hey Lucas are you sure mom left?", Lindsey asked. "yeah why?" Lucas questioned. "There's a car parked outside", Lindsey explained. Lucas lifted the blinds and peered through the window, and to his surprise there was a rusty white car outside.
Suddenly, "crash!", glass shattered and both Lindsey and Lucas heard loud yelling that sounded like thunder come from downstairs. "We have to hide" , mumbled Lucas. "But where?" , asked Lindsey. "Just follow me" , directed Lucas.
They both tip-toed down the creaky wooden stairs, and fortunately no sound was made. They crawled into the basement, and they still made no sound. "I don't think they'll find us here" , softly mumbled Lucas. "I hope not", whispered Lindsey.
Then, one of the 3 robbers burst into the basement. "If somebody's in here come out!", yelled the home intruder. Next, the robbers eyes looked directly at Lucas'. "Please don't hurt us!', begged Lucas. "Your wallet", ordered the robber, "give me your wallet". Lucas carefully handed him his worn down wallet, and the robber quickly snatched it from his trembling hands. The criminal took out all of the money he could find until he came across an old picture. "Wait why do you have a picture of me in your wallet?", questioned the robber. "What do you mean that's me and my long lost twin?", replied Lucas. "But that's me and my twin", insisted the robber. "There's no way", wondered Lucas.
Lucas and the robber stared at each other in silence as Lindsey watched in fear. "Can we please leave?", pleaded Lindsey. "Take my phone and call 911, I'll get you guys out of the house", promised the robber. In a few minutes police sirens blared, and many police cars pulled into the driveway. "don't worry we have this under control", the officer promised. "Wait he's with us", Lucas said as he pointed to his long lost twin. "great", replied the officer. Then, they gave each other a grin as the officer stepped into the ransacked house. "thanks", said one of the twins. "What can I say we're family and family sticks together", answered Lucas.
