This is the scene when Scout was scowled in the kitchen by Cal. For that she embarrassed Walter Cunningham at the dining table. All of these is because she do not know what kind of condition the Cunningham is living in. This lead to her accidentally "assaulted" the poor boy.
In the case of Tom Robinson, Atticus was the lawyer the man. Most people most likely will not trust Tom because he was black. Also for that the person who he was in trouble with is white. To not let this cause people to believe the Ewells, Atticus gave a long speech. Telling them that they should not believe that all blacks are bad. That not all whites are good.
The three kid is about to do something to the Radleys again. Knowing this, Scout try to stop them. For the reason that Atticus have warn them to not to bother the Radleys no more. Scout try to convince Jem and Dill to not do it, but they did not listen. Getting annoyed by her, Jem assult her by calling her a girl. This tell me that being a girl, to Scout and Jem, are something quite bad.
