  • “Raymond’s Run” by Toni Cade Bambara
  • “Raymond’s Run” by Toni Cade Bambara
  • ”Raymond’s Run” by Toni Cade Bambara
  • This is when Squeaky was practicing her breathing Exercises. Gretchen came up to Squeaky with her friends and started talking trash about her. Gretchen didn’t say one thing. When Squeaky told them off they tried to go for Raymond. What I was putting here is when they tried that and she started yelling at them .
  • This was when the race started. Raymond is running with Squeaky and sorta cheering her on. I couldn’t really put him where I wanted to because of how the scene is. As you can see Squeaky is ahead of Gretchen, and is about to win the race.
  • This is after Squeaky won and Gretchen lost. She doesn’t seem mad about losing and in the story Squeaky actually starts to like Gretchen. At this point Squeaky wants to train Raymond and wants Gretchen to help her. At the end Gretchen smiles at Squeaky “Cause she’s good, no. doubt about it. Maybe she’d like to help me coach Raymond; she obviously is serious about running, as any fool can see. And she nods to congratulate me and then she smiles. And I smile. We stand there with this big smile of respect between us.”
