The Continental Army's alliance with the French helped them by providing good supplies and leaders. These leaders and supplies helped keep them from being overtaken by the British.
I think they said charge but I don't really know what that means.
The Colonial Army did not have anywhere near as many soldiers as the British. It was rare that the Colonial Army had more people then who they were opposing, which usually was what resulted in their defeats.
The Colonial Army did not have a lot of supplies to keep the soldiers safe. Their ammo, clothing, and money were extremely low because they had no government to supply them with it. In the beginning before any alliances had formed, they were just working with what they had.
The Colonial Army was untrained for battle and had barely any time to prepare for battle. The British were well trained soldiers that had many people who had fought before. The Colonial Army was basically a bunch of normal citizens going against the greatest military in the world.
