  • Welcome to The World of Gases! Before you enjoy you’re flight, there are 5 rules that you must follow as a gas molecule! 
  • Being a gas may seem free and fun, but you still must follow these rules to stay in Gas world.
  • A postulate of gas is that it moves in random, linear patterns. They also move at various speeds.
  • The second postulate is that the gas molecule's size is so small and insignificant in comparison to its gargantuan distance between other molecules.

  • The next postulate is that there is a weak attraction between molecules, but not when they collide. 
  • STRONG COLLISION=HIGH ATTRACTION
  • WEAK (NOT COLLIDING)
  • The next postulate is that when the collision occur, the kinetic energy is maintained, so no phase change occurs.
  • Collision
  • Since the kinetic energy is preserved, the gas molecules don't change to liquid.
  • Well, now that you understand the rules of being a gas molecules and the interactions between other molecules, please buckle your seat belt and prepare for takeoff!

  • And the last postulate is that there is a direct relationship between the kinetic energy of the molecules and the temperature.
