I am going to Espom, for the races. It is Derby Day today.
What's the hurry?
Speed limit : 70 miles per hour
I bought a new car and I was eager in driving it.While I was driving up to London along the highway.Ahead of me,I saw a hitchhiker thumbing a lift and immediately brought the car to a stop beside him and offered him a ride.
Name? Address?Job? Show me something to prove this is your real name and address.
Why did he lied to the police officer about his job?
Michael fish.Fourteen,Windsor Lane. Hod carrier.
Speed limit: 70 miles per hour
The hitchhiker was a small ratty-faced man. His eyes were dark and quick and clever, like rat's eyes, and his ears were slightly pointed at the top. I learns that he is going to Espom for the horse races.
Why did you lie to the police officer about your job?
Who,me?What makes you think I lied?
We started talking about our job and the hitchhiker reveal that he is in a skilled trade. He then challenges me to see how fast the car can go."A hundred and five! A hundred and fifteen! At that moment,I heard the scream of a police siren, and then a police officer on a motorcycle went past us and raised a hand for us to stop.
Let's burn this books.
Thank you, guv'nor. It's always nice to be appreciated.
You are a fantastic fellow!
After the police oficer copy down the name, address and job of both me and the hitchhiker. I was given a hefty fine and penalty from the police officer. And I realised that he lied to the police officer that his job is an unemployed hod carrier when it is a highly skilled trade and I becomes suspicious of him.
Instead of telling me why he lied to the police officer about his job, he secretly took some of my valuables in a fast manner and it gave me some clues of his job.
The hitchhiker revealed that his job is a fingersmith and how he had managed to take back the two books from the police officer. The both of us agree to pull off this main road and build a little bonfire and bur these books.
