  • I will prescribe you Albuterol which is an inhaler to treat asthma. This is a liquid drug that is given by inhalation.
  • The results and symptoms you are showing are a sign of asthma.
  • Albuterol which is its generic name is a Beta-agonist bronchodilator drug and Albuterol's brand name is Proventil HFA or Ventolin HFA. This drug works by stimulating Beta 2 receptors in the smooth muscle around the bronchioles and airways, allowing the bronchioles to dilate and increases airflow. As a result of smoothing the muscles down, you will be able to breath smoothly again.
  • Some side effects of Albuterol could be nervousness, shakiness, headache, throat or nasal irritation and possibly muscle aches. Some more serious but less common side effects could be rapid heart rate, or feelings of fluttering or a pounding heart. This is a liquid drug that is given by inhalation. There is also a alternative way to take Albuteral via tablet form, but you'd have to let it be dissolved in the stomach and then absorbed in the bloodstream so it might not be as quick acting as the inhaling form.
