The narrator loved the old man but hated the Man's Eye.
The Narrator hated the old man's eye so much it made him crazy enough to kill the old man
After he had killed the old man He had claimed that he was not crazy but calculated. "If still you think me mad, you will think so no longer when I describe the wise precautions I took for the concealment of the body
After the murder of the old man the police had come over to the narrators house and said they had heard a noise complaint form a neighbor and wanted to come check the house where the noise came from. The Narrator wasn't scared at all he let them right he was so confident in his crime that he offered them tea right on top of the spot where the body was hidden. while doing that he kept hearing a sound that kept growing louder and louder.
The sound grew so loud that the narrator assumed that the police hear the sound and thought they were mocking him. This sound had been so loud that it led him to shriek this "Villains! dissemble no more! I admit the deed! --tear up the planks! here, here! --It is the beating of his hideous heart!"
