It began like a fairy tail. In 563 B.C. Siddhartha Gautama was born. Siddhartha could become a mighty king or a religious leader. Of course Siddhartha's father wanted him to be king.
Siddhartha was raised in wealth and luxury. Siddhartha's father protected him from poor, sad, or sick. As a young man Siddhartha married and had a son. It seemed that the prince had just about everything.
When Siddhartha was 29 he rode out of the palace without any guards. Siddhartha came upon "The four passing sights," He was shocked and horrified.

The once protected prince searched for the truth about life, suffering, and death. Siddhartha began his search by studying with Hindu guru's. They taught him that life was an endless cycle of birth, death, and rebirth.
As strength returned, Siddhartha renewed his search. Siddhartha meditated under a fig tree, it became known as the tree of knowledge. He meditated there for 49 days. Siddhartha said "I will not leave this seat until truth has been realized"
