The setting of this story (told in third Person) is at a house in the woods in England. The characters are Herbert (the son), Mr. and Mrs. White, and Sergant-Major Morris. In this scene Sergeant- Major Morris is giving the monkey paw to Mr. White and his family, but is telling them all about it.
I wish for my son Herbert to be gone from my house!
Mr. White wishes for 200 pounds. Then the son dies and from his death the family gets 200 pounds.
Oh thank you. She will be okay.
NO! He was there, I just know he was. What went wrong?
Mrs. White wishes for Herbert to come back to life. Mr. White is trying to to find the monkey paw to stop Mrs. White from opening the door to let Herbert in.
Mr. White finds the monkey paw and makes his last wish for his son to disappear.
Mrs. White opened the door and was full of misery and disappointment when she saw that nothing was there.
Mr. and Mrs. White moved out of their house to get away from the past. They visited their son's grave once a month and buried the monkeys paw far in the mountians where no one could find it . They moved to a country house, enjoyed life, and chose to live the life that they had.
