  • Dynamic Character
  • Apollo, the main character is trying to earn his way back to Mt. Olympus after being cast out by Zeus in punishment. Apollo needed to locate and secure five oracles as part of the trials to prove his worthiness, and gets help from his new friend Meg.
  • Setting
  • I relate to the book because I am learning everyday how to face new challenges as I grow up as a teenager, and my life becomes very different with every new thing I learn.
  • Conflict & Resolution
  • OK
  • You're going to EARTH
  • Apollo was very dynamic, and constantly changing as he went through the various trials to earn his way back to Mt. Olympus. Apollo learned how to be brave, to care more for his children and to value friendship with others like Meg.
  • Theme
  • The setting of the story is in New York on Earth where he has no godly powers and therefore depends on others for help. He has to learn new skills about how to survive on Earth and get the oracles.
  • I have no godly powers
  • The initial conflict occurred when Apollo was cast down from Mt. Olympus and discovered he was no longer an immortal god. He realized he needed help from others to complete his trials when Meg saved him from Mikey and Cade in the alley.
  • The theme of The Trials of Apollo is the value of friendship learned during hard times by Rick Riordan which is a fantasy novel.
