Holy Week is a week of festivals which they celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Jesus rode on a donkey to Jerusalem and walked through a path where everyone put their cloaks and palm trees on the ground. He went to a temple to heal the blind a lame people. The leaders of Jerusalem was mad and jealous of Jesus because Jesus has more followers than they did. Symbols: Palm, Donkey.
Jesus has a meal with his disciples which was called the Last Supper. Jesus also speaks with them for the last time. Jesus gave the bread and wine to his disciples and told them that it was the body and blood of Jesus. Jesus also washed his disciples feet. Symbols: Bucket, Towel, Bread, Wine.
Good Friday is a dark and dull time for the Christians because this day commemorates the death of Jesus. After a trial, Jesus is punished to death. Jesus had to carry his cross to the place where he was going to be executed. Outside of Jerusalem on a hill, he was nailed to the cross. He died on the cross after some time. Jesus was took off the cross and got buried. Symbols: Cross.
On Holy Saturday, 3 women took Jesus a tomb and they washed and wrapped Jesus. They rolled a boulder to cover the cave. 2 soldier guarded the cave for 2 nights. Symbols: Tomb, Boulder.
Easter Sunday is the last festival of Holy Week. On Easter Sunday, Christians believe that Jesus was resurrected. It shows that Jesus is the Son of God because he has the power over death. Symbols: Angel
