  • Prince Siddhartha was born near the Himalayas at about 563 B.C.E. His father was a powerful king and his mother was the queen.
  • Prince Siddhartha had a perfect royal life and married a beautiful young noblewoman at age 16 and had a son.
  • Siddhartha was given freedom to travel outside. He talked to the driver about the death. Siddhartha became curious about suffering.
  • Siddhartha become an ascetic and had an extreme way of living. He became terribly thin, so he could reach enlightenment.
  • Siddhartha was vowing to meditate under a tree until he attained enlightenment.
  • The Buddha taught people that they should travel the Eightfold Path. The path follows the middle way. He has spread his teachings throughout India and parts of Asia.
