  • This is better! Listen, this kid is driving me up the wall. Let's just do it!
  • WHAT!?!?!?!?! He said that we pay him to get rid of him! Uh-uh!
  • Bill and Sam decide to kidnap Johnny and end up kidnapping him.
  • Falling Action
  • Bill becomes terrified of Johnny and his wild antics and begs Sam to write the ransom letter already. Sam agrees.
  • Resolution
  • Ebenezer Dorset answers the letter in an unexpected way demanding money instead of giving it.
  • Theme
  • Maybe we should have just gotten a job...
  • Sam and Bill pay Ebenezer Dorset the money and run away, fast.

  • THIS WAY TO CHICAGO
  • The theme of the story is "Crime doesn't pay" because Sam and Bill committed a crime and didn't get anywhere.
