  • Natural selection is the process where organisms adapt better to their environment and survive.
  • The lizards are born as hatchlings to their mother and some may undergo mutations.
  • Most of the hathclings don't survive but the one with a bone altering mutation in it's legs allows it to escape from predators and frequent floods in the area.
  • The surving lizard reproduces and spreads it's genes throughout the population.
  • The lizards mutation than becomes the norm in the population giving it the ability to survive in more extreme circumstances.
  • And so the lizards population was changed for the better where the weakest lizard were culled and the strongest of them survived to spread there genes.
