- Ponyboy is leaving the parking lot after telling Cherry to go visit Johnny somewhat knowing that he’s going to die.
- You can see it good from the East side too…

- Ponyboy! Stay gold Ponyboy…stay gold.
- Johnny’s last words before he dies in the hospital.
- Ponyboy is feeling bad about Johnny’s death after Dally gets upset.

- That still body back in the hospital wasn’t johnny. Johnny was somewhere else…maybe asleep in the lot or playing the pinball machine in the bowling alley.
- Darry got a call from Dally, after Johnny died, that he robbed a store and that the cops were after him.

- It was Dally! A phone from the booth. He just robbed a grocery store and the cops are at him. We gotta be in the lot in a a minute!

- And then I remembered, Dallas and Johnny were dead. Dont think of them! Don’t remember that johnny was your buddy. Don’t remember that he didn’t want to die. Don’t think of Dally breaking uo in the hospital crumpling under the street light
- Ponyboy has just woken up from when he fainted and is trying not to remember that Johnny’s dead and Dally killed himself.
