The colonists of Roanoke were trying to leave the island. They were told that if they were going to leave to carve where they were going into a tree and if they were in danger to carve a cross next to it.
The colonists left the island and started there journey
After days at sea with no food or water the colonists realized they had no hope for survival
After many days on board without any food or water all the people on board the ship died of starvation and dehydration.
Many months later John White sent out people to check on roanoke and see how the colony was doing
