  • You were working for the British Navy. You must come with us.
  • What- I have never even been to Britain!
  • Give back our land!
  • We're here now, so deal with it.
  • Steal our ships, aide the Natives, AND interfere with shipping?
  • This calls for war!!!
  • The British kidnapped American sailors and forced them to work in the British Navy. 
  • FIGHT!!!
  • We're doomed, aren't we?
  • The British aided Native Americans in fighting Americans by providing supplies. The Native Americans fought hard for their stolen land.
  • NO! I must save Washington's portrait!
  • "Warhawks" were advocating for war with Britain. They included Henry Clay of Kentucky and John C. Calhoun of South Carolina.
  • Almost 2000 dead on our side.

  • In September 1813, at the Battle of Lake Erie, Oliver Hazard Perry captured 6 British ships. This enabled William Henry Harrison to push the British into upper Canada, where the British were defeated in a major battle. 
  • In August 1814, invading British troops set fire to the Capitol, the President's mansion, and other landmarks in Washington D.C.

  • In January of 1815, General Andrew Jackson, with a ragtag army of 7000 militia, defended the city of New Orleans. It was the biggest victory of the war for the Americans. Even though it was unnecessary, it was a moral victory.
