Storyboard Text

  • How is he so comfortable in this awful desert?
  • We are often associated with the desert, but that’s because camels have multiple adaptations that help us live here comfortably and effortlessly.
  • I mean, we have really long eyelashes and thick eyebrows; these traits help me protect my eyes from sand and the sun's harmful rays.
  • Many people complain about the hot sand, but camels have also adapted to that. First of all, we have two toes, spread far apart, to prevent us from sinking into the sand!
  • The soles of our feet are also soft and padded to help us walk for a long time.
  • A camel's kidney is also very efficient and can easily reabsorb water. This is one of the reasons why we can tolerate the loss of water, that is 30% of our body weight.
  • Don't forget about the oval shaped blood cells!
  • Oval shaped blood cells help our bloodstream by allowing blood to flow even when we are dehydrated.
