Hello, we are from China and 25,000 of us migrated here to get jobs and earn money.
A lot of our people got treated badly. Racism hurt us. We were forced out of our homes. We also had to sail over and some of us got sick and some even died. We also got paid less for longer hours ,so it was harder to make a living
When we went to America it hurt us because we were treated badly, but a lot of us made money on the farm. Then we went home with much more money. It was good and bad for us .
Most of us worked on the railroad. We also worked with Americans to find gold. One more thing we did was invent tools to help mine gold.
We affected the rest of the west coast by inventing tools, owning restaurants, and we built a lot of the railroad
We were treated very unfairly. We had extra taxes because we were foreign. We also worked much longer hours and more dangerous jobs, and we got paid much less. I wonder what would have happened if we had equal opportunities?
