hello and welcome! Today we will be talking about the wars that the greeks fought in. to start off, in the persian was the greeks and the persians. this war all started when king Darius conquered northern greece also known as turkey. in the aftermath the greeks came out with the win.
okay, so now this is the battle of the marathon. in this war the greeks and the persians fought. king Darius sent out an army of about 90,000 men on the other hand the greeks only had between 10,000 and 20,000 and the greeks won by using their shields and spears while the persians had bow and arrows.
in this war the greeks and the persians fought. The persians won the war but the greeks held them off for 3 days giving enough time for the greeks to plan their next attack. in the mind of greeks they consider this a win because they held them off for three days considering the fact that every greek was killed.
battle of the thermopylae
in this battle the greeks and the persians were fighting. the greeks were outnumbered. the greeks won, the way they won was by them only having 300 small ships and the persinas having 500 big ships and the big ships were hard to maneuver around the rocks that they had between the city states.
the salamis war
in this battle there was the persians and the greece. the greece won the war by having around the same amount of people just like the battle of thermopylae they used bow and arrows but the greeks used spears and shields and defeated the persians.
this is the platae war
this is the time where the greeks had defeated the persians. after they defeate dthe persians they thrived for 100 years, also with the garintued freeedom from forgin rule and also started a rich culture wich brought in more population.
