  • - There was a national market for beef because demand for beef outspaced supply in the northeast, and in texas the supply of cattle was greater than the demand and as a result cattle that was sold from $3 to $6 a head in Texas was sold in kansas for $38 and in New York it was sold for $80.

  • -They would face dangers from blizzards to floods and stampedes and killed many of them sometimes they would ride for 24 hours straight and sleep in there saddles and only earn $300 a year , some of them would face discrimination.The cowboys would also do countless tasks mostly everyday.

  • -The development of the oil industry lead to urban growth in texas because when economic booms grew so did the boomtowns and also thousands of texans went to the boomtowns to seek work in the oil industry.

  • -The oil boom affected oil markets and local communities gradually since there was a great need for oil and it helped local communities when texas sold more than $13 million dollars worth of oil in 1915.
  • Rail lines in texas were important to farmers because mostly every farmer was only growing cotton and they wanted to ship them and railroad companies offered cheaper rates for shipping cotton and they also built large loading platforms for cotton at each railroad stop.
  • New technology affected the farmers in West texas tremendously because they could start planting faster , they could separate grains and seeds easily and they also started to use steam powered machines and windmills to pump water from aquifers to crop irrigation.
