  • Our government is a mess, and socialism is the way to go!
  • In January 1905, a group of workers demonstrated outside of the Tzar's winter palace in Petrograd to protest against the government. The soldiers open fire on the workers, killing and wounding hundreds. The massacre was a short term cause of the revolutions since it sparked more strikes and riots.

  • Yes comrade!
  • Tsar Nicholas II did not do much for the benefit of Russia during his time as an absolute monarch. He was the one who ordered Bloody Sunday in fears that he would be overthrown. When Nicholas I left for WW1, he left the queen in charge who was then manipulated by Rasputin.
  • February/March 1917 Revolution
  • The monarchy sucks! Give us food and step down!
  • Rasputin was a trusted adviser for the royal family and he made the most influence when Nicholas II was busy in WW1. He was incredibly disliked by the massive lower class (80-90% of the population), the lower class was a long term cause of the Russian Revolution. His bad reputation helped discredit the government.
  • October 1917 Revolution
  • Lenin, who was once exiled from Russia for his socialist views, led a group called the Bolsheviks. The Bolsheviks were the cause of the Red Terror, and major contributors to the revolutions. They will later be known as the Soviets.
  • The first stage of the Russian Revolution of 1917, in which the monarchy was overthrown and replaced by the provisional government. The people of Russia were the driving force of this revolution and were extremely upset because they were starving
  • We surrender!
  • The October Revolution was when the Bolsheviks were able to take control of Russia, since the provisional government was not doing well. The Bolsheviks formed a group called the Red Gaurds, and they stormed the palace.
  • Today is the day we become rulers of Russia comrades!
