  • Ionizing Radiation is radiation with enough energy to remove electrons from and atom.

  • Non Ionizing radiation is a low energy wave that cannot remove electrons from an atom.
  • Non Ionizing
  • Ionizing waves have a high frequency causing them to have a short wavelength. On the other hand Non Ionizing waves have a low frequency and a long wavelength.
  • Now that we have all that information we can answer the big question. What really happens when we are exposed to Gamma rays?
  • What it will really does is mutate DNA and damage cellular mechanisms. In large doses it can cause radiation poisoning.
