Storyboard Text

  • The French Revolution 1789-1799
  • Daddy, when can we eat?
  • We have no bread! No food! We're starving! The queen has to stop spending money selfishly and use it to give us peasants food.
  • I need to buy another dress Louis.
  • Buy anything you want dear.
  • The French Revolution had many drastic problems that shaped France. The following are some of the main reasons for shaping France.
  • Yeah!
  • We need CHANGE!
  • Now the peasants are attacking us. What is happening! I'm scared!
  • Prices of bread increased due to a failure of crops which led the peasants not being able to buy food. Plus, the queen and king selfishly spent money on themselves. Therefore, many got angry so they left dispersing into the 13 colonies.
  • Are they going to attack us next?
  • King Louis and queen Maria spent a lot of money for themselves causing France to be in a huge debt. Citizens, especially peasants were enraged because the money should have gone to buy food like bread for the citizens.
  • Freedom for equal rights of all men has finally come!
  • Why don't us women get the same rights of men? This is unfair.
  • The soldiers in the war needed more supplies, but money was tight so taxes were placed mainly on peasants (in the third group of the third estate). This angered them and disconnected Third Estate while bringing eagerness for change.
  • Why are the taxes placed on us only! This is an outrage!
  • Fear swept over the people in France fearing that nobles were going to hire outlaws to terrorize peasants, but peasants ended up becoming the outlaws. This fear made people join other members of the National Assembly in which they removed feudal privileges of 1st and 2nd estates.
  • The Declaration of Rights of Man declared that men had the rights of liberty, property, security, and resistance to oppression. However, woman still did not receive any of these rights.
