  • My name is Ms. Petra
  • Created By: Yanil Cabrera
  • Hey, everyone, I have some information to share about bytes and files.
  •  I'm already in class , so why not?
  • I guess so.
  • Sure.
  • Byte is a unit. The most common one you know is Gigabyte because whenever we buy a device such as a phone, tablet, or ipad. We ask how many GB (Gigabytes) it has. Because that states the amount of storage the device can hold.
  • There is also Megabytes (MB), Kilobytes (KB), Terabytes (TB) and much more. Each of these can convert back to its basic unit (bytes).
  • In the beginning of class you said something about files. What are those?
  • Interesting.
  • Oh yeahhh, I know what a Gigabyte is. I hate it when I buy on itunes extra GB because my phone doesn't have enough storage.
  • How many bytes are in each?
  • Jenna, File sizes are basically what I explained about those are the sizes because not all of the types of bytes have the same amount.
  • Maya, each one has it's own amount. For example, 1KB = about 1,000 bytes, 1 MB = about 1 million bytes, GB = about 1 billion bytes, TB = about 1 trillion bytes.
