“I see that you have a band of music with you…. I have always thought ‘Dixie’ one of the best tunes I have ever heard. Our adversaries… attempted to appropriate it, but I insisted yesterday we fairly captured it…. I now request the band to favor me with its performance.”
April 11, 1865: John Wilkes Booth threatens Lincoln.

April 13, 1865: Booth's sadness has turned into hatred, as the rest of the community celebrates the official ending of the war.

April 14: John Wilkes Booth has officially shot Lincoln in the back of his head with a gun!
