  • Nicholas II was the last tsar under Romanov rule over Russia. He was known for his poor leadership and responsibility over many defeats in war.

  • Vladmir Lenin was a well-known and controversial leader of the Bolshevik party. He was influenced by Karl Marx, in which he lead a communist movement. He ruled from 1917-1924.
  • Trotsky was a communist who helped spark the light on the Russian Revolution. Although he was exiled to Serbia many times, he constantly competed over power with Stalin.
  • Stalin ruled the Soviet Union for two decades. He promoted terror when modernizing Russia. His Red Army helped defeat Nazi Germany during World War II.
