  • Percy arrived at the camp when he woke up. The two people caring for him when he was unconscious the night before was Annabeth and Luke. Annabeth and Luke were the only two friends Percy had other than Grover. Percy also learned that Zeus's Master Bolt is stolen and he was blamed for it. This is "Man vs. Society" because all the people around him know that the master bolt is missing and Percy stole it. Percy is trying to find the bolt back.
  • Falling Action
  • Chiron sent Percy, Annabeth, and Grover on a quest to find and return the Master Bolt before the gods start a war. Percy had to leave the camp before he could get much training. Luke gave Percy some flying shoes that turned out to be cursed. Along the way to the underworld, they fought monsters such as Medusa, Echidna, and Procrustes. Fighting those monsters made them stronger.
  • Resolution
  • The three of them traveled far and fought many monsters. They confronted Hades about the Master Bolt in the underworld in Hollywood. Hades said that he does not have the Master Bolt. He also said that his Helm of Darkness was missing. He blamed Percy for stealing his Helm of Darkness.
  • The trios left Hades throne and saw Ares at the beach. Ares had the Helm of Darkness. Percy fought Ares at the beach and Ares lost the fight. Percy got the Helm of Darkness from him just as the Furies came floating down from the sky. They finally understood that it wasn't him who stole the Helm of Darkness. Percy requested the Furies to take the helm back to Hades.
  • Percy and his pals return to the camp and everyone congratulated them. Luke kept a distance between Percy, Annabeth, and Grover because he is jealous. Luke takes Percy into the woods on the last day to say "goodbye." He confesses to Percy that he stole the Master Bolt and the Helm of Darkness. He tries to kill Percy with a scorpion but Percy goes back to the camp in time to get healed.
