  • Texans came seeking for work in the oil industry.Relatively few women and children lived in towns with oil booms.They were concerned about the ruckus than the city planning it was a really dirty and rough place.New business opened to share with the growing population.Others were geared more to workers offering gambling and drinking.These activities led to violence making boom towns dangerous places to live.
  • Their long legs allowed longhorns to travel great distances and their horns protected them from any predator.These longhorn suited life in Texas grazing on the native grasses.These lean strong animals could tolerate hot and cold weather as well.This cattle can thrive with little water not only that longhorns are resistant to the cattle disease also known as Texas fever.
  • The united states had a transcontinental railroad one that runs across a continent.Some states would issue railroad  bonds.Texas gave more than 32 million acres of land to more than 40 railroad companies.
