  • Frederick Douglass is thinking that being free now turned to hopelessness and Douglass did not give up despite the circumstances.Now Frederick Douglass is thinking that Freedom is not going to be easy to obtain.
  • Frederick Douglass is shouting at the religious masters due to all the problems  and it also shows him a volcano showing his anger toward his harsh slave masters.
  • The theme of this story is that Do not give up.Things that are worth having do not always come easy.This relates to the story because it talks about Frederick Douglass´s struggle for freedom.It also talks about Frederick Douglass talking about God and saying to God ¨Why did I have to suffer this punishment.¨
