A= Adapt What if the middle school they went to was a high school?
Do you wanna stop over at my house later?
M= Magnify What if the small town they live in was a big city?
Um... do i know you guys?
Who are these people?
I dont think so....?
Do they go to my school?
I think that this would impact the love triangle that Bobby, Joe, and Kelsey are in. In fact, there most likely would be no correlation between Bobby and Kelsey at all. Bobby would not have even liked Kelsey in the first place, so she would have barely even been in the story at all. Kelsey most likely would still like Bobby, but it is unlikely that the author would even include that in the story. This could also change it because maybe Joe and Bobby would like each other.
P= Put to other uses What would happen if Bobby ran for president, but didn't give the speech, like Addie did?
This process is UNBELIEVABLE.... This is OUTRAGEOUS!
This would change the way the kids act immensely. They would have a more mature way of acting towards the dating drama they have. For example, when Addie was talking to Colin, perhaps she would have understood if he actually liked her or not. Another example of this is when Joe wondered if Colin actually liked him. Maybe if Joe had those comprehension skills in high school it would have been easier for him to tell, saving him a lot of time.
E= Elimination What if Mrs Wyman was not a teacher at Paint Brush Falls?
I will not mutter false words, Mrs Douglass!
I think that this would greatly change the plot of the book. First, the Gang of Five wouldn't roam freely in their town as much as they do, or even walk to school. Secondly, I think the Gang of Five wouldn't be as close as friends, because it would be harder for their parents to meet in a city with many people.Obviously, this would change the story because they would probably not have formed the Gang of Five . Them not having that connection would change the story monumentally
R= Reverse What if Bobby was more stubborn and persistent and Addie was more quiet and suggestive?
I'm sorry, but this third party can NOT happen.
This would change the plot completely. First, I don't think that they would have been as close to winning as they were. I think that Bobby is a better speaker than Addie and she wouldn't have given as great of a speech as he did. Also, the third party would have been more favorable to Mrs Wyman because Bobby would be the president, not Addie. This would eliminate some complications the kids had with the teacher in the beginning of the book.
This girl is crazy.
I know, right?
This would change how the kids carry out their campaign. This is because Mrs Wyman can cause complication for the kids. For example, when Addie wanted to first start the Freedom Party, she had to push to make it happen because of Mrs Wyman. Although she may cause complications, Addie would not have gotten worked up about the pledge and formed the Freedom Party. This would have lead to Bobby not coming up with the No-Name Calling party.
Whatever, Addie. Just don't make a disturbance to the kids around you.
This personality change would definitely modify the story. To start, the No- Name calling party could have been thought of quicker. If Bobby was as ambitious as Addie, he definitely would have thought of the idea quicker. This could have, once again, avoided some conflict they had with other people. Another example is when Addie was arguing with Mrs Wyman about the third party,If it was Bobby who was arguing, it maybe could have turned out better.
There's no way! Just because we're kids it doesn't mean we don't have rights!
