"Her hair was chocolate brown and it was cut choppy and uneven..." (Riordan 4)
"Jason thought she must've been freezing but she looked calm and confident." (Riordan 18)
This is the first mention of Piper in the book. It is when Leo, Piper's friend, mentions her while having a casual conversation with Jason, Piper's boyfriend along with Piper. Piper's full name is Piper McLean.
"Piper and Dylan were holding the doors open, herding kids inside." (Riordan 18)
This is when Jason is describing Piper. He is explaining how her hair is cut short and uneven and even though she wears no makeup, she is still pretty. He also says that she tries not to attract any attention to herself.
"'Forget it!' Piper yelled a little bit louder than intended." (Riordan 182)
Here, Jason is describing one of Piper's strongest personality traits. She is calm and confident at all times, no matter what the circumstances. She is staying calm and confident so that the rest of her classmate can get inside.
Well, You know what Piper? Nobody likes you! Haha!
"Looking at Drew, who used to bother her, she laughed." (Riordan 522).
As Jason describes, Piper is risking her life to save the lives of her classmates. This is one of the first character traits that readers identify for Piper. She is ensuring that her classmates can make it out alive and this is a very kind action.
In this scene, Piper is yelling at her cabin mates. At this point in the book, Piper is frustrated and upset. Her character trait in the middle of the book is frustrated. She feels this way because things aren't going her way and she is upset about it.
At the end of the book, Piper is confident. Drew is the cabin bully and PIper put up with it in the beginning but she is sick of it so she just laughed at Drew. She feels more confident at the end.
