On the day Montag took off from work after Beatty leaves Mildred confronts him about the book he had hidden underneath his pillow.
Montag tells a story about this old man he met at the park. His name is Faber and he tells him how he is a retired English teacher and that he know about books and poems.
At the end of the section Montag is at work and they have to go burn someones house down. Little did he know that it was his house and realises as they pull up.
