  • This is an example of person vs. person because this is a conflict between to different people. Kino is hitting Juana because he is mad that she tried to destroy the pearl. Juana however is not fighting back.
  • Person vs. Society
  • Kino is hiding the pearl because he is being very self-conscious and greedy about not loosing the pearl even when it has brought so much bad to him and his family.
  • Person vs. Person
  • *Fighting*
  • Kino and Juana go back to their house after the beating incident and see their house burning down. Fire is a part of nature which is why this is person vs. nature.
  • Person vs. Self
  • The doctor isn't helping Kino and Juana because of their ethnicity and race. He is in the house but he doesn't think people like that are worthy of his time.
  • We need the doctor's help.

  • The intruder and Kino are fighting while Juana and Coyotito are sleeping.
  • Kino is always thinking to himself and he sings a lot about the situation he is in.
