Lyddie had an encounter with a bear. "...and there in the doorway was a massive black head, the nose up and smelling, the tiny eyes bright with hungry anticipation." (pg 1) We know this type of conflict is being demonstrated because a bear is part of nature and Lyddie is a wpman.
Lyddie had a conflict with the mistress when she got fired and disobeyed her rules. "She stood in the doorway, trying to frame an excuse or apology, but as usual the words did not come quickly enough to mind. 'You're dismissed!' the woman said." (p 44) We know this is man v. man because she disobeyed her mistress' rules and she got fired for it.
Lyddie had a conflict with the lady on the carriage when she was traveling to Lowell. "The woman gave Lyddie's dress and shawl and strange boots a critical going over with her eyes, then settled again to her knitting..." (pg 48). We know this is man v. society because the lady was being rude and Lyddie noticed. Lyddie also was annoyed that people looked down on her.
