  • Arrival at Roanoke
  • The fort is destroyed.
  • And there is bones from a man over here.
  • Colony from August to October
  • We are struggling to survive here. 
  • I will go back to England and get supplies and more men.
  • Everything is packed and we are ready to go.
  • After John White leaves
  • OK I will leave a note on the tree.
  • White and colonist arrived to find the fort destroyed. There was bones of one man. The 15 men that were left there had disappeared.
  • Colonist struggled to survive. Indians became hostile towards them. Always had storages of food and relied on the Indians help.
  • The colonist moved to Croatoan Island with friendly Indians. There was no signs of a war like arrow heads or weapons. The word Croatoan was carved in wood and CRO in a tree. There was no cross carved into the wood or tree.
