  • I need a drink. We're out of money and we have to way of getting it back at the moment.
  • During the Revolutionary War individual sates went into serious debt caousing a precedent.
  • I know! We just fought in this war for them and they think they can just tax us like this!
  • Since the majority of the states drank whiskey. Alexander Hamilton came up with a way to tax the states with a "sin" tax.
  • Hey John, this is outrageous. They're taxing their own veterans for drinking.
  • Our veterans and people do dink enough as it is.
  • We shall pass this tax.
  • However, even though the veterans weren't happy about this tax. Their states congress helped pass this elastic clause.
  • And our states are in debt from the war. So we need to gain some money.
  • The government cannot make me pay for drinking. I just fought a war for them.
  • The tax was a huge failure as soon as it was passes. People wold not pay for this tax. The people soon turned to violence after this tax.
  • This is going to end in war.
  • I'm coming for peace and these militia are not needed. For there will not be a war today.
  • On July 17, 1794 7,000 men were waiting for the militia who were coming to stop a war  just to find that there was so rebellion.
  • They have tared and feathered our tax collectors.
  • I will repeal this tax.
  • The tax was repealed after being nearly almost impossible to collect.
  • We can't force them to pay for anything, and they're not going to pay for this tax.
