Inside the Earth

  • *RING RING*
  • Today I will be giving you a lesson I made about the layers of the earth, so here we go!
  • Alright everyone, settle down! Science class is now in session.
  • First up is the crust, it's the one that we stand on. It the thinnest it's the coolest, and it is solid. Also, it is the least dense layer of the earth. Made up of basalt rocks and granite, its the outermost layer of our planet!
  • The second layer is the mantle. The mantle has two parts, the upper and the lower. They both are very hot. The upper mantle is thicker than the lower mantle. The upper is semi-solid rock but the lower is more solid. They both are composed of olivine rock.
  • The third layer is the outer core. It is a very thick layer that is very hot and has a liquid-like consistency that flows around the inner core. This layer is composed of molten nickle and iron. Also, it is a very dense layer.
  • The final layer is the inner core. It is a solid layer, the hottest and most dense of them all. This is because there are extreme amounts of pressure. The layer consists of iron and nickel.
