Storyboard Text

  • Today, David was working on a report, but he received many error messages relating to his grammar.
  • This paper I'm writing says my grammar is wrong, but it won't say why.
  • What's wrong David?
  • Right here, I wrote, "i attached the design for the car axle as a .pdf file".
  • Oh! You must have forgotten to capitalize "i". Always capitalize the first word in a sentence and the word "I".
  • Oh, thanks! Over here I wrote, "We will have two spent more time working on these design plans." How is this wrong?
  • That is known as a homophone. Homophones are two words that sound the same but have two different meanings. The correct word would be "to".
  • That's helpful! Over here I wrote, "Today, our company sold a car to the customer with the new axles".
  • Oh, that's a misplaced modifier. It sounds like the customer has new axles. You should change it to, "Today, our company sold a car with new axles to the customer.
  • Alright, and finally, I wrote, "I sent this to my boss at their email account."
  • Here you made a possessive pronoun error. "Their" means multiple people. Use his.
  • Thank you! That was very helpful.
  • No problem!
