  • Static friction: friction that acts on objects that are not in motion.
  • Rolling friction: friction that occurs when an object rolls across a surface.
  • Sliding friction: friction that occurs when two surfaces slide over each other.
  • Fluid friction: friction that occurs when an object passes through a fluid
  • Friction-  A force that opposes motion
  • Friction is caused by the Irregular bumps in the surface.
  • Gravity is a force which tries to pull two objects toward each other. Anything which has mass also has a gravitational pull
  • Freefall is downward movement under the force of gravity only. Air resistance is the frictional force air exerts against a moving object.
  • When you sit on the couch, you exert a compression force on the cushion.The cushion comes close together and pushes back with an equal compression force in the opposite direction.
