The Dr. later continues to tell Dustin, "To treat the cancer, we will be sending you to the Mayo Clinic for treatment"
Through this method you will have a lot of treatment options.
10 weeks later: Anna and Dustin wake up and Anna takes care of all of the morning responsibilities because Dustin is very weak and sick from 9 weeks of chemo therapy. Anna drives Dustin to the hospital for 1 last chemo session and to plan his video assisted theoraic session.
"Dustin luckily the chemo therapy has been fighting the SCLS fairly well, so the amount of cancerous tissue in your lung has not expanded at all. We were thinking that the VATS surgery would be the most efficient way to remove the rest of the infected tissue. The recovery time will be quick and easy because we don't have to go through your chest or ribs."
2 Weeks Later: The Mayo Clinic team performs the VATS and after three hours Dr. Richards delivers the good news. "Dustin we removed all of the cancerous tissue! In 2 weeks we will have you back to remove your staples."
You are in complete remission!
Thank you so much for everything!
Later that night: Dustin delivers the news to his family, and they all began to cry out of joy for Dustin.
Oh my god! Dad I love you
Dustin, I'm speechless
2 Weeks Later: Dustin helps Anna with all of the normal routines around the house and they take the kids to school and then drive to work. Dustin leaves early to go to get his staples removed. Dustin later thanks the mayo clinic team and told them how thankful he is. Dustin left the hospital a changed man.
