  • This an example of a simile, because it is comparing two unlike things such as the moon and a prision bar using the words like or as.

  • This is an example pf assonance because the vowel "a" in repeating is this line of poetry.

  • This is personification because the ladder is recieving a human characteristic of trembling. 
  • Alliteration 
  • This is a rhyme due to the words hear and Revere, both with the same sounding ending making them a rythme.
  • "Listen my children and you shall hear of the midnight ride of Paul Revere" (Line 1-2)
  • This is onomatopoeia due to the twitter being a sound word and onomatopoeia consists of sound words.
  • "And the twitter of birds among the trees" (Line 100).
  • This is alliteration because of the repeating letters in the beginning of each word. "f" is the repeating letter in this case. 
  • "Struck out by a steed flying, fearless and fleet" (Line 72).
