  • A colony is a new territory ruled or governed by the government or by a certain leader. 
  • The Thirteen Colonies are located in Delaware, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts Bay Colony (which included Maine), New Jersey, Georgia, Connecticut, Maryland, South Carolina, New Hampshire, Virginia, New York, North Carolina, and Rhode Island
  • The British government is going to fix their debt problem by taxing the colonionists. They are taxing British colonists collect the owed money and pay it back.
  • .The people threatened the tax collectors in many ways. For example, they hung a doll, that looked like the tax collector outside of his house by his neck. 
  • "No taxation without representation" means "we are not paying". The colonists decided that if they were not going to get the rights and laws that they wanted, they would boycott buying things all because they didn't want to pay the taxes. The people threatened the tax collectors in many ways.
