Storyboard Text

  • In 1887 is when the crime and mystery solving genius was introduced, in the book titled The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. Throughout his stories, Doyle incorporates many aspects of crime solving, some of which the police force didn't yet use to solve crime.
  • The names Doyle, Arthur Conan Doyle and I am a Writer. You may know me from my work: Sherlock Holmes
  • As Doyle before being a writer, was first a physician, he began to come up with crime solving tools that were not used by police force yet at that time.. He showed this when he incorporated fingerprint analysis into his story published in 1890. A whole 11 years before Scotland Yard began using fingerprints as evidence in 1901.
  • As first being a physician, when writing of Sherlock, I was aware of the current uses and ways in which crime was being solved by using Forensic Science
  • Among the idea of fingerprinting, Doyle also introduced the concept that each typewriter produced a different looking type. His stories also introduced handwriting analysis, footprint analysis, Cryptology, the ise of "sniffer dogs", and the scientific analysis of materials such as ashes. All of which are now used for crime solving.
  • The success which Sherlock had in his crime solving by using certain forensic tools, caused the police force to then begin using these certain strategies, making Sherlock a Pioneer in the creation of methods for crime solving.
