  • Shearing stress is stress that pushes a masses of rock in opposite directions like shown above.
  • I'm Posieden and I'm going to tell you about shearing stress. 
  • Tension Stress is when the crust is stretched making it thinner in the middle as shown above. 
  • I'm Hades and I'm going to tell you about tension stress. 
  • Compression squeezes rocks together until it folds or breaks, which happens when two plates crash together. 
  • Hi Im Zeus I going to tell you about compression. 
  • The rock on either side of the fault slide past each other also with a little up and down motion.
  • Hey, you I'm going to tell ya about Strike-slip faults. 
  • A normal fault is when rock on the other side of the rock is higher than on the other side. The rock that is higher is called a footwall and the rock below is called a hanging wall.
  • A reverse fault is in the same position as a normal fault except the hanging wall and Footwall are switched
