  • Dating back to the Norman Invasion of 1066 . . .
  • Early French Military Success
  • As the two nations of England & France expanded . . .
  • Later British Military Success
  • George Washington, British Troops under his command and Iroquois allies build Fort Necessity in the Ohio River Valley.  In response to an attack on a French scouting party where the French Commanding Officer, Joseph Culmon de Jumonville is killed, the French attack and capture the fort.
  • Results and Exchange of Territories
  • Treaty of Paris of 1763
  • After the Battle of Quebec, France agreed to peace talks.  This global conflict had many nations involved and the Treaty of Paris of 1763 only dealt with the exchange of territories in North America.  To understand it simply, Britain controlled lands east of the Mississippi River, including Canada, and Spain will control lands west of the Mississippi River.
