Storyboard Text

  • The sky looks like an endless sea, but actually there are many layers of the atmosphere that create the sky that we're familiar with!
  • There are 4 layers of our atmosphere The Troposphere, at the bottom The Stratosphere The Mesosphere and the Thermosphere, at the top.
  • The Troposphere is where we live! This is where weather happens. It is the lowest layer, and the temperature goes down the higher up we go!
  • The boundary between this layer and the next is called the Tropopause. This is where the Jet Stream is located!
  • The ozone layer protects us by absorbing the rays from the sun, so it is very warm up here, and it keeps getting warmer as you go further up!
  • The next layer is the Stratosphere! This layer houses the ozone layer, which protects us from harmful rays of the sun.
  • The 3rd layer is the Mesosphere! It gets colder as you go higher, like in the Troposphere!
  • There is no weather in this layer because there is almost no water vapor.
  • This layer is heated by the sun, so the temperature gets higher the higher you go !
  • The Thermosphere is the last and highest layer of the atmosphere.
