  • Fighting On Home Ground
  • We know what to do, we have the right places to hide.
  • Fighting With a Cause
  • We're fighting for our freedom. We can't live under British rule anymore!
  • The Continental Army had strong military leadership including Gerge Washington and the Marquis de Lafayette. These leaders made good decisions throughout the war to help the Army defeat the British. 
  • Untrained and Unorganized
  • Washington what are we going to do, the British are so trained and some of our men can barely load a musket. 
  • The Continental Army was able to fighting in their own territory which benefitted them in defeating the British. They knew the land and the places where it would be best to hide and attack. 
  • Shortages of Supplies
  • We need more food! Our men are starving to death.
  • In the war, the Continental Army had a resaon for fighting against the British. They cared more because they were fighting for their rights and freedoms. 
  • Significantly Outnumbered
  • The Continental Army was made up of people with little military experience who just wanted to fight for their families and freedoms. They didn't have the extensive trainng that the British had. 
  • Although the Continental Army was small, they lacked items like food, clothing, weapons, and ammunition. This weakened their Army even more because of the amount of lives lost to disease. 
  • The Continental Army was greatly outnumbered by the British. The British had 80,000 troops while the Americans didn't have nearly as much.
